Badge Holders Sizes and Applications
Badge holders are essentially items that hold your ID badges, helping to keep them looking great while also making them easier to use.
Badge holders come in a variety of different sizes and styles and each has different benefits and applications. Read on and we will look more closely at these to help you make the right choice for your business.
What Are Badge Holders For?
If you have made your ID badges well with butterfly pouches to laminate and a strong card to provide the main base, then you should find that they are able to stand up to a fair amount of punishment. These should be at least water resistant and you will likely also find that they can be bent and folded to some degree without being ruined.
But while this is true, you may also want to make your badges more resilient still. If you’ll be working outside on a worksite for instance, or if the badge is intended to last for years, then a bit of extra support can help you to get more from them and save you some overheads.
These badge holders then provide an additional pouch to slot the complete ID card into and then prevent bending with a more rigid back while at the same time protecting it from the elements.
Types of Badge Holders
Badge holders come in the following sizes and formats:
- ID badge holders
- Credit card
- Extra large
When you are choosing which one is right for your business and the particular application you have in mind, you should consider how easily they will be seen at a distance, how much protection they offer and whether or not they look right in that particular setting. When we deal with government officials or medical staff, we will likely have seen them use card holders and as such, we unconsciously begin to expect to see these kinds of holders in the future when we’re in similar settings.
Likewise, card holders can also vary in terms of how easy it is to get items in and out and in terms of the pockets they have and the holes they provide for the ID cards.
If you already have your ID cards then this will make the process of choosing holders much easier – you will likely want ID card holders that are the correct size to fit your card and that are the correct orientation. You should also think about how you’re going to be carrying the holders, do you want one that is suitable to go in a pocket and which can then be flipped open and closed to reveal or hide the individual’s credentials?
Other considerations are whether or not your cards need to be swiped (do they have mag strips?) and what color you will need. You may want to match the color of your card holder to the card itself and/or the lanyards. Of course price will also factor into your decision and likely inform your choice of material.
